I gazed up at the ceiling of the Rossetti Theatre, where STARS twinkled above, and asked myself, “Did I DREAM A DREAM, or was this reality?” This is the question that lingers when you witness something truly magical.

A perfect storm of factors converged to create an unforgettable experience: the 40th anniversary of the iconic musical Les Miserables, the spectacular world tour produced by Cameron Mackintosh, the powerhouse performances of Killian Donnelly and Bradley Jaden, the live 65-piece orchestra, and the timeless story of Victor Hugo.

The Rossetti Theatre, Trieste’s new musical theater hub, was the perfect setting for this event. The theater’s patrons embraced the LOVELY LADIES and charming men dress code, transforming the foyer into a sea of red, white, and blue.

The production itself was a masterpiece. The focus shifted from action to emotion, highlighting the powerful music of Claude-Michel Schönberg and the poignant lyrics of Herbert Kretzmer. The cast, led by Killian Donnelly as Jean Valjean and Bradley Jaden as Javert, delivered breathtaking performances that filled the theater with a sense of hope, despair, and ultimately, redemption. The audience really fought behind the barricades, felt A HEART FULL OF LOVE.

There were no EMPTY CHAIRS AT EMPTY TABLES, the city was abuzz with excitement. Every restaurant was packed with theatergoers enjoying a pre-show dinner and the theater itself was sold out. People had come from far and wide to witness this.

How properly describe this energy? How can I transmit this power? I won’t start a SOLILOQUY, don’t worry! As the FINALE approached, I found myself swept up in the moment, lost in the world of Les Misérables. But WHO AM I? An italian literature teacher 35 years old with a big passion IN MY LIFE: theatre.

This isn’t just a musical: it’s an experience. It’s a chance to Dream a Dream and believe in the power of love, courage, and the human spirit.

So, I urge you, dearest readers, to seize the opportunity to witness this extraordinary production. Whether you’re in Italy or elsewhere, AT THE END OF THE DAY, you won’t regret it.

The show is currently thrilling audiences in Trieste until November 11th, and then it’s off to Milan’s Teatro Arcimboldi from November 14th to 24th! After that, it’s a global takeover, so get ready for a world of Les Misérables.
